Escape rooms are a relatively new form of entertainment. Players enter themed rooms to solve puzzles. Escape rooms originated from point-and-click video games in which a digital character had to find his or her way out of a locked room.

Mind Factory’s escape games are different. We rely on engaging stories and immersive environments — instead of too many combination locks or word and number puzzles — to thrill and entertain you. Above all else, our games are about having fun.

Nope. As fun as it would be to lock people in our rooms, code does not allow it. You’ll always have an obvious, easily accessible exit, should you choose to leave.

We’re going to give you A LOT more to do than just open a door. The escape room industry has evolved beyond that. Our missions will throw you into a fun, challenging environment that’ll have you questioning your surroundings while you enjoy an awesome time with your friends. Think of it as a real life adventure where the stakes are high but you’ll never actually be in danger.

The people who built Mind Factory come from a variety of career paths, educational backgrounds, and disciplines. If you can think critically, you can crush Mind Factory’s missions.

It depends on your definition of hard. You won’t need to know calculus. You won’t need an advanced vocabulary. In fact, any preexisting knowledge you might have might hurt you. You need to be aware of your surroundings. You need to be able to question your assumptions. Mind Factory, after all, is about challenging you to think critically while we thrill and entertain you. We’re not trying to frustrate people. It doesn’t matter where you come from or whether you graduated college; to excel at our missions, tap into our story and figure out how the puzzles relate to what’s going on in the game.

Most people won’t find our first game, Breathless, outright scary. It is spooky at times.

Our second game, Invasion, has scares, some themes that might not be suitable for children, and one very large demon.

Our third game will be terrifying.

Nope. Just that it’s going to be scary. Really, really scary.

Not very. They will, however, push the boundaries of your imagination, and your ability to solve problems.

All our games are private. This means only your group will be playing. No one outside your group will be able to join you. We plan to continue this policy after the pandemic has passed to give our guests the most private, curated experience possible.

Anyone can play, but some people might find moments and themes in Invasion frightening. Kids under the age of 8 might have a difficult time with some of the puzzles. Those with physical disabilities that limit their vision, hearing, motion, or strength might also have trouble, though most of our puzzles don’t require more than finger strength. If you have a disability, please let us know ahead of time so we can make as many accommodations as possible.

Our lobby is wheelchair accessible. Our game Breathless is also wheelchair accessible, though players in wheelchairs may have trouble accessing a couple of the puzzles. This shouldn’t prevent them from enjoying the experience. We have a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Unfortunately, because of the design of the building, the second level of Mind Factory and the game Invasion are not wheelchair accessible.

There are no age restrictions, but young children might find some of the puzzles difficult and the environments frightening.

An adult must sign a waiver for all participating children under 18.

Yes. We won’t allow you to play if you don’t. We encourage players to sign the digital waiver on our booking page before they arrive at Mind Factory. We also have waivers that you can sign on iPads in our lobby. Children under the age of 18 must have an adult sign the waiver.

No. In fact, because you’ll need a reservation to enter Mind Factory, you’ll need to schedule your mission and pay in full before you get here.

Just your brain and your sense of adventure. We will ask you to leave your personal belongings in one of our secure lockers before you enter your mission.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of your game. If you arrive after the scheduled start of your game, we may not allow you to enter.

There’s no on-street parking in front of Mind Factory, so you’ll have to park in our parking lot. The entrance to the lot is off Fairfield Avenue, near The Castle restaurant. Please follow the signage to our front entrance after you park.

Sure. We’ll just ask that you reserve all the spots for that game. Contact us and we’ll make it happen.

Yeah don’t do that. Seriously. We won’t allow visibly intoxicated people to enter, and you won’t get a refund. To learn more about all of the awesome local establishments that serve alcohol to those 21 and over, you can view the map in Mind Factory’s entryway.

Good question. Our missions run on a tight schedule, so we sincerely ask that you take things like travel time into consideration when you’re planning to visit. We will provide full refunds as long as you cancel more than 24 hours before the start of your game. We have a strict no refund policy if you cancel less than 24 hours before the start of your game. Even if you book your game less than 24 hours before the start of your game and decide to cancel, we will not provide a refund.

Absolutely! We will, however, take into account all state and federal guidelines regarding Covid-19 to determine what services we can provide. Whether it’s a bachelorette party, a 50^th birthday event, or an outing for your work team, as long as guidelines allow, we’ll make sure to provide you with an unforgettable experience.
